Abstract

Education is a sociological institution housing cultural, economical, political and social data. In addition, educational institutions which targets to catch up with rapidly growing personal needs of the 21^st century has the technology as main building block. Therefore, the global developments in terms of education, require to run parallel with technological developments. In this study, theoretical analysis method is used to explain how the society is affected with the advances in education on technological ground. Since technology might have positive as well as negative effect on education, we have tried to present our findings with both positive and negative aspects in today’s education conditions.

Öz

Eğitim kavramı kültürel, ekonomik, siyasi ve sosyal verileri içinde barındıran sosyolojik bir kurumdur. Bununla beraber günümüzde, çağın gereksinimlerini ve hızla artan bireysel ihtiyaçları yakalamaya çalışan eğitim kurumlarının temel yapı taşını teknoloji oluşturmaya başlamıştır. Bundan dolayı eğitim açısından küresel gelişmeler, teknolojik gelişmeler ile paralellik arz etmektedir. Bu çalışmada, eğitimin teknoloji tabanındaki gelişiminin sosyal yapıya olan etkileri teorik analiz yöntemiyle açıklanmıştır. Bunun sonucunda elde edilen bulgular, günümüz eğitim şartlarında olumlu ve olumsuz yönleriyle ortaya koyulmaya çalışılmıştır. Çünkü eğitimde teknoloji kullanımının pozitif sonuçlarının yanı sıra negatif sonuçları da olabilir.
